Every FCC Complaint Against 30 Rock Is Now Available

You can now read every complaint filed with the FCC over the NBC hit show 30 Rock. All nine of them.
Tina Fey’s 30 Rock was a grounding breaking comedy. Known for its satirical, witty, and often time’s outright silly writing, it drew huge audience and skyrocketed former SNL alum Tina Fey to the top of the comedy world before ending in 2013. But with all its success, it drew plenty of controversy from concerned Americans. That is to say, very concerned Americans.
The filing service MuckRock– a US Based organization which assists people with filing governmental requests for information– just released all of the FCC complaints filed against 30 Rock from throughout the shows tenure and the comments are hilarious.
Most revolve around crude jokes and inappropriate language the show has used. One concerned parent was offended by the shows language where one character “called someone a son of a bitch”, while another complained about the comment an unidentified actor who said, “Kiss my daughter’s ass”. Another concerned parent was even offended by the term “MILF” and its excessive repetition throughout the episode.
Shows with a long history of censorship by the FCC are seldom cancelled. People can flood the complaint box with comments, but when it comes down to it – none of it seems to matter. Recently the show “2 Broke Girls” racked up a full 91 complaints filed to the FCC for raunchy humor and general bawdiness. Last month there were strong rumors regarding Fox’s hit program “Empire” and its future of possibly coming back for a second season after FCC found examples of the ‘gay-bashing’ on the program.
But as for 30 Rock, a show that racked up 103 Emmy nominations, 11 Screen Actors Guild awards and countless accolades from fans and critics alike, it only received 9 complaints over its 7 season history.
