Even South Park Was Stunned by the Election Results

Last night, South Park took on the election of Donald Trump and everyone in South Park is as stunned as America seems to be in the wake of their respective elections.

But the episode that aired, wasn’t the episode Trey and Matt planned to debut one day after the 2016 Presidential Election. They had written an episode called “The First Gentleman” assuming we’d all be sitting around trying to figure out what to call Bill Clinton- spouse to the new President Hillary.

A quick rewrite hit all the key phrases and bullet points. The power of misogyny was a running theme through the episode, there was an Amy Schumer name-check, and a vignette featuring “the two Bills”- Clinton and Cosby teaming up.  It wasn’t exactly South Park at its best, but the episode does a great job of conveying the confused feeling that many people walking around New York City are feeling in the wake of Trump’s election.
