Edward Norton and David Letterman Remember Mike Nichols

Ed Norton and David Letterman remembered Mike Nichols on Letterman last night with a beautiful tribute to the director and performer who passed away yesterday at the age of 83.
“For people in our industries, comedy, television, films and theater, he was one of the absolute giants. Not just an innovator, and an incredible talent, but he really was one of those people who– every great actor and director you’ve ever known went to Mike for advice and they always got it. And it was always generous.”
Norton met Mike when they were respectively filming Primal Fear, and The Birdcage on adjacent lots. Dave also talked about seeing “Nichols and May” when he was a young performer. Letterman and Norton agreed that Nichols and May changed comedy, and credited them with being innovators in improvisational comedy.
