Ed Helms to Host ‘The Fake News with Ted Nelms’ on Comedy Central
Former The Daily Show correspondent and co-star of The Hangover series, Ed Helms is set to produce and host a new Comedy Central special called The Fake News with Ted Nelms. The show will be a comedic take on current events with a deadpan style in the vain of Peter Sellers and Leslie Nielsen, hoping to closely emulate real news networks like CNN and Fox News.
The show will be executive produced by Helms, production partner Mike Falbo and former Daily Show producer Stu Miller, who was with the show when it won two Emmy Awards. The new show is a part of Comedy Central’s newfound commitment to political satire. In addition to the long running Daily Show, the network also plays home to the satirical late night talk show The President Show, starring Anthony Atamanuik as Donald Trump.
