Everyone’s talking about Dina Hashem. And last night if you were watching Conan last night you became a part of the everyone who knows and loves her. Dina performed stand up on Conan, talking about some important problems Muslim women have to deal with. You know, like body hair, and not really getting to see your dad, and maybe being okay with that.
If you are a regular at comedy shows in New York City and festivals around the country, you probably already know how great she is. Dina was named one of this year’s Comics to Watch at the New York Comedy Festival, and became the first woman to compete in the title match at Roastmasters at The Stand comedy club.
Known for her trademark soft-spoken, deadpan delivery, Dina is everywhere- and last Thursday she was one of the voices on Samantha Ruddy’s Comedy Holiday Album, recorded at The Creek and the Cave which Patton Oswalt called “one of those shows full of people who WILL become huge and you’ll get to one-up your friends in 5 years about how you went to this FOR FREE.”
Follow Dina on Twitter @dinahashem_ and you can find her regularly appearing in our New York Comedy Listings.
