Between dealing with kids, dealing with work, and dealing with Take Your Kids to Work Day, you may have missed some of the most insane things celebrities did this week. Well, have no fear — because Kashmere is here with his finger on the pulse and his eyes on every Instagram account of anyone worth talking about. From Oscar winners to reality TV royalty, to even actually royalty; here are the craziest stories going on this week. Welcome to our newest series, “Did You Hear? With Kashmere!”
Kashmere (also known as Danny Murphy) is a comedian, writer, and pop culture connoisseur (despite not really knowing how to spell connoisseur). He currently writes for Betches and Marie Claire and has also been featured in Glamour, Seventeen and Town & Country. When he’s not drinking red wine or iced coffee while watching Bravo, he’s performing around New York and hosting PASS THE AUX at The Stonewall Inn and DO I SEND IT? at Branded Saloon. Follow his fake reality show AKA his Instagram stories, @kashmeredanny.
No, you’re not dreaming — it actually is already December. It feels like just yesterday I was writing down “work out more! Learn french!” as my 2019 New Years resolutions that I knew would never get accomplished. Regardless, this decade is officially coming to a close and TBH? I’m ready for it. Until then, let’s shake off the Thanksgiving fog we’ve all been in this week and get to some gossip!
You Can’t Handle the Truth — So You Need A Drink:
Since it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, I highly recommend this Did You Hear is read with a tall Starbucks peppermint mocha. A tall, because while they are festive and cute, they definitely aren’t… great, so you don’t want to have to deal with too much of one.
Shocked to Not:
Let’s rank the five most shocking (or not remotely surprising at all) stories from this past week.
Olivia Jade Is Back on YouTube | Nothing makes you take a creative hiatus from vlogging in your dorm quite like your parents getting arrested for scamming your way into said dorm! It’s not surprising Jade took some time off from rubbing concealer over her face during the college admissions scandal, but I guess like Adele, she feels her talent can’t not be used so she’s back to cReAtInG cOnTeNt. I’m okay with this mainly because, who cares? She did nothing wrong. Let the girl teach us all how to nail a smokey eye for Friday nights.
Even Celebs Suffer from Cold & Flu Season| After Ariana Grande had to cancel a concert last week cause of sinus issues, Shawn Mendes is now following suit. I love how irrationally angry fans get when performers have to do this when it’s not like they’ve coughed twice at night and sent their boss an email saying it’s better if they work from home to not get everyone else sick.
Kid Rock Gets Drunk And Insults Oprah| While I’m not remotely shocked that Kid Rock got too drunk before getting on stage, since his name is, you know: Kid Rock. But where my jaw does drop is when he takes to stage to bad mouth Oprah — because, who would ever do that? Not only is Oprah an actual walking God, I feel like she is omnipotent and can now somehow curse Kid Rock with years of bad luck, something I’m assuming has already happened to him.
Louis C.K. Is Back Making Headlines | Times like this I think I should be in crisis management: cause I would just tell all of my clients to just take the millions of dollars they have, tell them to go to a remote island, and have them just shut the hell up. That way, they don’t make headlines for making jokes about Auschwitz in Israel. Side note, who knew he has an audience in Israel? Do I randomly have an audience in Israel?
RIP to Will & Grace Scene Stealer| Shelley Morrison has passed away at 83 after winning over the hearts of everyone as the hysterical Rosario, Karen Walker’s Nurse, on Will & Grace.
The More You Know: Our Weekly Life Lesson From the A-to-Z List
I feel the major lesson from this week, that I didn’t even know had to be a lesson is don’t ever come for Oprah. I mean, she’s a legend and definitely controls why the world spins, and with that, controls your destiny.
Blast From the PAST:
Because this decade is winding down, and in honor of Olivia Jade rebutting the upload button on YouTube, I think it’s definitely time to reflect on one of the most iconic YouTube videos at all for one of the ultimate performers of the 2000s so far: Chris Crocker’s leave Britney ALONE video. Talk about breaking the Internet, Kim Kardashian.
Stream or Scream?:
Kacey Musgraves is having a year. From being the surprise winner of Album of the Year at the Grammys to be coming best friends with the Kardashians and Hadids, she has done a full transformation from country star to universal celeb. That transformation was obv not complete without a holiday special on… Amazon Prime? While I’d say it was cute, and the guests that sang on it great, it definitely lacked the Cher factor that made older holiday specials amazing. Great gowns, tho, so give it a shot.
