Between dealing with kids, dealing with work, and dealing with Take Your Kids to Work Day, you may have missed some of the most insane things celebrities did this week. Well, have no fear — because Kashmere is here with his finger on the pulse and his eyes on every Instagram account of anyone worth talking about. From Oscar winners to reality TV royalty, to even actually royalty; here are the craziest stories going on this week. Welcome to our newest series, “Did You Hear? With Kashmere!”
Kashmere (also known as Danny Murphy) is a comedian, writer, and pop culture connoisseur (despite not really knowing how to spell connoisseur). He currently writes for Betches and Marie Claire and has also been featured in Glamour, Seventeen and Town & Country. When he’s not drinking red wine or iced coffee while watching Bravo, he’s performing around New York and hosting PASS THE AUX at The Stonewall Inn and DO I SEND IT? at Branded Saloon. Follow his fake reality show AKA his Instagram stories, @kashmeredanny.
Spring is finally here! I think… and hope. It seems like like Hollywood spent a lot of the weekend indoors, though, with no spotting of people overdoing it at brunch or clubs (besides me, but unfortunately when I called TMZ to photograph me, I just got a busy tone). Instead, all of the major news came from award shows, press releases, and music streaming. Let’s check it out!
Miranda Lambert Shaded Blake Shelton In Front Of Him, On Stage… Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton called things off a bit ago — and they both seem to be doing alright and moving on. Blake, with his girl (or should I say, just a girl) Gwen Stefani and Miranda with a hot cop who can be spotted at Rockefeller Center when talent comes to the TODAY Show. Yes, he’s known as the Hot Cop there, with credit to Busy Philipps. But, Miranda wanted to have a little bit of the last laugh: which she did at the American Country Music Awards last night. When performing, she switched a lyric she wrote about Oklahoma (where Shelton is from) and referenced that she got the hell out of it. Slight shade, but on a stage? Ruthless! I love it! North West Performed At Kanye’s Church. Because Kanye is Kanye, it should come as no surprise that he just went ahead and started a church-like service. I have a feeling this is sort of like his version of being the mom from Mean Girls, because: this isn’t a regular church, it’s a cool church. And like all cool churches, it will be appearing at Coachella. Who else may be appearing with the church performance? Well, if this past weekend was any indication: his daughter North West. Check out this video momager in the making, Kim Kardashian, took of their daughter on stage. Get more details at elle.com.
Are the Jonas Brothers Starting A Cult? Jk, but their new couple name kind of sounds like one. ‘Jonai,’ which truly does sound like something someone in Los Angeles would tell you to join, is what the brothers and their plus ones are calling themselves. The only question we have after this: will this be the name of their TLC show that I’m assuming is a spin-off of Sister Wives? Read all about it on Yahoo.
Beyoncé Is Gifting Us All A Netflix Documentary. Okay, so I’m not sure if this is an actual documentary or just a high-quality version of the Beychella performance people did Homeland amounts of FBI-searching to piece together choppy iPhone videos from the special day. Regardless, her Beyhive is excited and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already considering April 17th an Easter miracle. Pitchfork has all the little details.
Scary Teenager Billie Eilish Has Major First Album Debut. Basically the human version of Tumblr, it’s taken me some time to figure out Billie Eilish. Her music is a little spooky, and also underrepresented on radio. Which is why it may shock some music industry vets that her debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is debuting extremely well on the Billboard 200. With over 313,000 albums sold, she easily secured the number one spot — and at 17, she is the youngest person in almost ten years — bested only by at the time sixteen year old Demi Lovato. Go to billboard to learn more.
And that’s all I heard this week, but both my ears and my bottle of wine are open, so start emotionally preparing for next week’s round up and of course — if you see something, say something, and tweet me at @kashmeredanny.
