Did Comedy Central Just Quietly Renew “This Week at the Comedy Cellar”?

UPDATE:  Comedy Central has informed us that no decision has yet been announced about the season two plans, if any, for “This Week at the Comedy Cellar,” saying that the language in the release was meant to reflect the current season airing now.

Comedy Central’s newest stand up series, “This Week at the Comedy Cellar” has aired four episodes with two to come in its six-ep first run. When we spoke with EP Ray Ellin last week, he said that he had no information yet on whether the hot-topic series would get a second season.

But then on Thursday Comedy Central announced two hot new series coming to the channel in 2019 (Robbie and Awkwafina), and teased the networks’ slate for 2019. In that look ahead, the network promised a stacked year ahead that will feature new and returning series. One of the series mentioned is This Week at the Comedy Cellar.
