Delco Times Gives Love to Delco Proper

The Delco Times gave some love to Tommy Pope’s new webseries Delco Proper and shed some light on exactly what Comedy Central has picked up. The first time we reported the story, Comedy Central’s digital division had given the boys the green light on creating and distributing a pilot episode. Last week team Delco go the go ahead to produce three more which will air on cc.com.
Delco Times also learned that Tommy Pope wasn’t born Tommy Pope– he’s actually Tom Papa. “I had to change it because there is already a famous comedian named ‘Tom Papa,’” Pope explained in July.
Comedy Central told the Times that there is no air date set yet. They’re still in the writing phase, and filming won’t happen for another month or so, but Pope promises all three episodes will be shot in and around Delco. They aren’t planning to share those locations in advance though, Pope told the Times. “…[P]eople from Delco are maniacs and they would probably tailgate out front of the shoot like it’s an Eagles’ game.” Delco proper is written by and stars Tommy Pope, who hails from Upper Darby and Philadelphian John McKeever.
