After news of his death spread, David Bowie’s songs are up 2700% on streaming. In addition, Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, has reached the number one spot on the iTunes music chart. Tony Visconti, longtime friend and producer of the album wrote on his Facebook page of Bowie, “His death was no different from his life — a work of Art…He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift.”
