The original 1987 Overboard starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell has not aged well since it includes a guy basically kidnapping an injured woman and turning her into his servant. So, in the remake, it is now a white woman taking advantage of a Mexican man. It still may sound weird but it beats writing something original, right?
