The Bocchetti Files features comedian Mike Bocchetti talking one-on-one with his friends and fellow comedians about whatever crosses his mind. For his first interview he spoke with Dave Hill. Comedy Smashes Into Music at Full Speed at The Goddamn Comedy Jam

"If I polled you, 99% of this crowd would rather be rock stars than whatever the fuck they do now. Myself included, so this is a dream." That's Roastmaster General Jeff Ross, segueing from the stand-up part to the musical part of his set at April's The Goddamn Comedy Jam. GDCJ is a monthly show at the Lyric Theater in Hollywood that features comedians doing sets of regular material, then rocking out with house band Elemenopy, live band karaoke style.

Monty Python Returns To The Stage For Film Festival

Friday continued Tribeca Film Festival’s 40th Anniversary salute to the British (+1 American) comedy sketch group Monty Python. The five surviving Pythons made their appearance at the New York Beacon Theater, filled with fans who had just watched their beloved (and arguably most popular) film “Monty Python and the Search of the Holy Grail.” The crowd were full of people who clearly loved the film, and knew more than a few lines by heart...plus me.

Tribeca Interview: Neil LaBute, Phil Burke, and Gia Crovatin of Dirty Weekend

Neil LaBute returned the Tribeca Film Festival again, in another film starring Some Velvet Morning’s Alice Eve. But in his latest, the often controversial playwright and filmmaker hit the road and made his gentlest, and possibly most crowd-pleasing film. Eve co-stars with Matthew Broderick, as two business travelers stuck in Albuquerque, and find they are in the same city as Broderick’s last "dirty weekend" (out of town sexual affair). LaBute was joined at the festival by actress Gia Crovatin (who plays a mystery woman from Broderick’s past) and actor Phil Burke (as the cabbie Eve and Broderick can’t escape). Lesley Coffin sat down with Neil LaBute, Phil Burke and Gia Crovatin to talk about the new movie.
