Comedy Cellar Back on TV This Month With New Ripped From the Headlines Show

Comedy Central is going to bring audiences somewhere they’ve never been before- directly to the famed comedians’ table at New York’s Comedy Cellar. In a new series titled “This Week at the Comedy Cellar”, you can peek in at what New York City’s best comics have to say about stories in the news each week both on-stage and offstage.

The on-stage part is pretty self-evidence- you get to go downstairs at the Cellar with clips of stand up comics talking about whatever’s going on in the world that week- everything from Presidential hot takes, to whatever is going viral. The offstage part takes place upstairs at the comedian’s table- where comics sit and bullshit between their sets, talking about whatever is in the news. It’s the same stuff you are talking about with your friends but a lot funnier. Each episode will also feature a biographical spotlight on one of that week’s featured stand-ups.

Comedy Central will post the extended comedian roundtable discussions and various stand-up highlights weekly on and on YouTube. The CC App, and YouTube will feature clips from each episode. In addition, full episodes of This Week at the Comedy Cellar will be available the day after premiere on the Comedy Central App and

This Week at the Comedy Cellar is executive produced by Noam Dworman (for the Comedy Cellar) and Ray Ellin; Michael Hirschorn and Jessica Antonini from Ish Entertainment; and Ted Tremper. Christian McLaughlin, Anne Harris and Chloe Ifshin are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
