This Comedian Was A Clue On Jeopardy! Who Is Robert Kelly!?

JEOPARDY

Robert Kelly is Immortalized as a Jeopardy Clue

Thursday evening while millions of Americans were inviting Alex Trebek into their living rooms for their nightly Jeopardy! game show appointment, they were also inviting the Heathens from the FX series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

The category was “Musicians on TV”. Among the clues earlier in the category were fictional bands like Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem from The Muppets and Jesse and the Rippers from Full House- all classic TV bands.

When the contestants got to the very pricey $2000 Double Jeopardy clue in the “Musicians on TV” category, Robert Kelly and his television band mates became part of TV game show history. A photo of the band minus frontman Denis Leary appeared on the Jeopardy! board and host Alex Trebek read this clue:

“Robert Kelly and John Ales and John Corbett are Heathens backing up Denis Leary on this triple ampersand FX show.”

Dolph was the first to ring in and he correctly gave the response, “What is Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll? Dolph picked up the 2 grand. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to parlay his correct response into a Jeopardy! win. Dolph lost out to an office manager / student named Shyamlee from New York City who does pottery in her spare time.

The second season of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premiered last night on FX with new episodes airing every Thursday at 10pm Eastern. You can also hear a SiriusXM Town Hall with Denis Leary and the cast hosted by Ron Bennington at 2pm Eastern today on the “Bennington” show on Raw Dog Comedy Hits channel 99, and hear Robert Kelly as one of the mentors on the most recent edition of our own comedy series, Comedy 101.
