Cipha Sounds Comedy Series Will Premiere on Jay-Z’s Tidal; Watch the Trailer

no small

Today, Variety announced an exclusive announcement that our own Jeffrey Gurian has been talking about for weeks– Jay Z’s Tidal Service is launching a new comedy series.  Gurian first announced the news back in February.  Cipha Sounds has known Jay-Z for years and back in the day even DJ’ed for Z, in the days before Cipha branched out into performing comedy.

DJ, TV personality and comedian Cipha Sounds is the host of the new series, which has been titled “No Small Talk.”  In each half hour episode, Cipha Sounds will profile young comics at the infamous Comedy Cellar located in the West Village.  Cipha plans to profile the guys he thinks are ‘next’ and taped five episodes back in September.

The new series has some really strong stand up talents appearing including Yamaneika, Nore Davis, Louis Katz, Aaron Berg, Casey Balsham, Leonard Outz and Rip Michaels.

The first episode is available now, for free on tidal.com.

Cipha has been performing comedy all over the New York clubs this year.  It’s hard to believe that it was only a year ago when he said he didn’t feel like he could call himself a comedian.
