Michael Che Winning Over SNL Weekend Update Audiences
It’s only week two for Michael Che on Weekend Update, and he’s already starting to get comfortable in the anchor chair. He’s also winning over the audience with his signature smirk and relaxed delivery. He got love all over the internet it for lines like “and also, who goes to Texas AND Africa? There’s never a reason to do that unless you are a missionary or Hakim Olajuwon” and “Jimmy Carter celebrated his 90th birthday this week as usual by snorting peanut dust off a hookers ass.”
He’s already helping senior anchor Colin Jost with some language choices and had some great interaction with the new superfeminist music group, Garage and Her. That’s pronounced gar-ach-hey.
If Twitter is any gauge of audience reaction, last night any negative commentary that showed up early in Weekend Update quickly gave way to waves of support and love like these tweets.
