British Comedian Pulls a Kanye, Crashes Kanye Stage

According to the Hollywood Reporter, British Comedian Simon Brodkin pulled a Kanye last night during Kanye’s performance at the 2015 Glastonbury Music Festival in England. Brodkin rushed the stage in character as Lee Nelson. “Some people were saying Kanye shouldn’t headline Glastonbury, so I thought I’d give him a hand,” Brodkin tweeted (as Nelson).

Brodkin’s character is known for being “ignorant and antisocial” and this is not his first ‘invasion.’ According to the Mirror, he’s also run onto the pitch to warm up with Premier League team Manchester City, tried to blend in with England’s World Cup team an an airport, and once stormed the X Factor stage.

Nelson/Brodkin’s tweet refers to a petition that over 60,000 people had signed trying to get Kanye removed from the bill, asking for him to be replaced with a rock band. The petition stated, “Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world…We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment.”
