What are you doing in 2020? Keep July 17th open, because Bob’s Burgers: The Movie is coming to theaters.
Yes, Bob’s Burgers is getting a movie and there’s never been a better reason for stand up comedy fans to be excited about TV heading to the big screen. The movie has not been made yet…but that hasn’t stopped FOX from setting a release date for the film based on the Emmy winning Fox TV series created by Loren Bouchard. The series stars the comedy voices of H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal as the series stars along with regularly recurring voices delivered by Kevin Kline, Sarah Silverman, Laura Silverman, Megan Mullally, Ken Jeong, Zach Galifianakis, Jenny Slate, Aziz Ansari, Dave Herman, and Jon Hamm. Bob Belcher’s world goes deep into the comedy circles. If you listen closely, you’ll hear Todd Barry, Jordan Peele, Paul F. Tompkins, Pamela Adlon, Rob Huebel, Eddie Pepitone, Samantha Bee, Bill Hader, Jeffrey Tambor, Fred Armisen, Amy Sedaris, Patton Oswalt, Will Forte, David Wain, Doug Benson, Bobcat Goldthwait, Linda Lavin, Rachel Dratch, Hannibal Buress, Jim Gaffigan, Kyle Kinane, Joe Lo Truglio, Bob Odenkirk, Ron Funches, Michael Showalter, Molly Shannon, Dom Irrera, Paul Scheer, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jonathan Katz, Eric Wareheim, Tig Notaro, Jason Mantzoukas, Dana Snyder, and Russell Peters and more, and we hope many of them will make appearances in the feature-length version.
In a statement, Bouchard said, “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever-so-slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s — but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
