Billy Crystal’s Advice to Josh Gad on a Good Late Show Appearance

Josh Gad was on Late Night last night to promote his new show, The Comedians which premieres on FX this week. Many of you know him as the beloved Olaf from Frozen. Olaf is beloved by kids all over the country, by everyone, except his daughter who prefers Baymax, voiced by Scott Adsit, from Big Hero Six. But Scott Adsit doesn’t pay the bills, and he makes sure his daughter knows it. Maybe she’ll jump back in for the upcoming sequel.

His co-star, Billy Crystal, didn’t want Gad to mess up with Dave like he did with his daughter, so he gave him some tips on how to have a great appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.

1. Take over. Dave likes it when he doesn’t have to work.
2. Don’t fawn over Paul, Dave gets jealous.
3. Don’t say anything about his tie which really doesn’t match anything.
4. Ask him where he’s going for Passover.
5. Speak extra loud and make sure he’s listening.

All sound advice, but we would have added, 6. try not to point out the host’s lack of knowledge of your work, and 7. bring a gift, a muffin basket is always nice.
