In Bill Hader’s 8 seasons at Saturday Night Live, he said the one thing he never got to do, but would have loved to, is sing. In the opening SNL monologue, he admits his singing voice isn’t for everyone and everyone finds out why.
That’s when the SNL run-ins started happening. Hader was joined on stage by his former Saturday Night cast mate and current film co-star Kristen Wigg. The two star in the movie “The Skeleton Twins”. She encouraged him to sing, but only until she heard him. When you can’t sing yourself, do an impression of someone who can. In this case, Broadway’s own Harvey Fierstein who won a Tony for the musical, “Hairspray”. Harvey immediately showed up to help Bill out and the two finish the SNL monologue with a big number with Wiig on sax.
