If you’re like us then you’re enjoying the hell out of Baskets on FX starring Zach Galifianakis, Martha Kelly and Louie Anderson. If you’re like us you’re really really excited to hear the news that Baskets has already been renewed for Season Two. Not that we had any doubts, but when you love something you get nervous. The series is executive produced by Louis C.K. and co-created by Jonathan Krisel, Louis C.K. and Galifianakis and broke FX ratings records as well as bieng the most watched basic cable comedy series premiere since 2014.
For those of you who haven’t made your way over to FX to watch Baskets yet, the series follows Galifianakis as Chip Baskets a sad clown who is frustrated with life getting in the way of his dreams. He wants to pursue his art without having to worry about petty things like rent and money. His life is further complicated by the loss of his only mode of transportation- a scooter- the presence of his French wife who married him for a greencard and doesn’t feel bad about leaving Chip on the hook, and a sibling rivalry with his more successful twin brother Dale, who is very comfortable pointing out Chip’s flaws. On the positive side of his ledger is new friend Martha (Martha Kelly), and maybe the best mom in the world, Christine Baskets brought to life flawlessly by Louie Anderson.
“Baskets is bold, brilliant and incredibly funny and we could not be happier with the reception it’s received in its breakout first season,” said Eric Schrier, co-president of Original Programming for FX Networks. “Baskets brings together three of the most innovative comedic minds working today — Zach, Louis and Jonathan — and we thank them, the rest of the creative team and the entire cast for everything they’ve done for the series.”
The show airs Thursdays at 10 PM on FX. Season two will air in early 2017.
