Are Toys Done For?

Salon took a look at how Hasbro and Mattell, the two biggest traditional toy companies left, are freaking the fuck out. “Analog” toys are being replaced by tablets and the old school manufacturers don’t know what to do. There’s a Furby coming out that comes with a phone app, but even that’s a dicey gamble. Have the tablet and cell phone make kids toys obsolete?
