Amy Schumer’s Knocking Comedy On Its Ass

Inside Amy Schumer

Least that’s what the New York Post is saying. Ever since her 2012 breakout Comedy Central special, Mostly Sex Stuff, Amy Schumer has been a dominant force in comedy. Male or female. Her special led to the creation of her hit series, Inside Amy Schumer where several of the sketches revolve around the theme of sex. But that’s just because that’s who she is.

She said, “I’ve never tailored my stand-up for anybody. I’ve just written what honestly feels funny to me,” Schumer has said. “But I’m not trying to shove the fact that I’m a chick under the table. I’m a girl and these are the things that I’ve dealt with.” And it’s working with the guys. The season two premiere of Inside Amy Schumer brought in the largest audience of 18-to-34 males, more  than any other show that night, including cable and broadcast television.

Now she’s performing at Carnegie Hall for this year’s New York Comedy Festival on Friday, November 7th at 8 pm. There was a time when there were no female comedians featured at the NYCF. Amy is now headlining along with plenty of other women who are appearing at this year’s fest, including Tig Notaro at Town Hall on Thursday, Kathleen Madigan at City Winery on Friday and Maria Bamford at Town Hall on Saturday among others.

Next up for Amy Schumer is a third season of Inside Amy Schumer coming in 2015. And the movie Trainwreck which she wrote and will star in. The movie is directed by Judd Apatow and will come out next Summer.

Truth is Amy is the Terminator and she’s going to just keep coming.
