In a move that surprised just about everyone, just days after announcing she had a boyfriend, Amy Schumer married boyfriend Chris Fischer in Malibu. Nope, it didn’t go down on Valentine’s day, the nuptials took place before the 14th, on Tuesday in front of 80 guests. Us Magazine reported the news (which was confirmed in Schumer’s instagram) and that celebrities were of course, in attendance, including Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Lawrence. Some of the comedy celebs in attendence included Larry David, Judd Apatow, Rachel Feinstein, John Early Chelsea Handler, Aidy Bryant, Vanessa Bayer, Jerry Seinfeld and David Spade, and we now know that Bridget Everett sang for the newlyweds. The wedding was held in Malibu.
Amy Schumer has known Fischer since at least November and they’ve only been seen publically together twice. Schumer only confirmed that he was her boyfriend earlier this week with a photo of the two kissing at Ellen DeGeneres’ birthday soiree.
Bridget Everett told US magazine Amy is head over heels in love.
According to E! the vows lasted a brief 15 minutes, comedian and friend John Early officiated in drag,
Fischer sounds like an outstanding catch. He authored an award winning cookbook and is considered a phenom. Michelle and Barack Obama love his restaurant, Beach Plum Inn on Martha’s Vineyard, and their list of favorites isn’t to be taken likely. The Obama’s know their food. Before opening his own joint, he worked as sous chef at Mario Batali’s Babbo. He lives on his family’s five acre farm, The Bettlebung Farm, which was the subject of his cookbook.
The two may have met through mutual friend Jake Gyllenhaal. In other news, Trainwreck co-star Colin Quinn also marked Valentines Day in a dramatic way. Quinn tweeted that he suffered a heart attack on Wednesday, but is recovering.
