If left up to to the moviegoers, ‘American Sniper’ would be the runaway favorite to win the Academy Award for best picture. In a pole of 1,000 people, ‘American Sniper’ garnered 36% of the vote, followed by ‘The Imitation Game’ and ‘Selma’. ‘Whiplash ‘ finished in dead last, showing that if audiences wanted to see students get yeled at by an angry teacher, they would just watch a re-run of ‘House’.
