Amanda Seales is Taping an HBO Special in NYC

Amanda Seales is taping her first special later this month, which should cause a lot of excitement because Seales is red hot this year especially after blowing up as Tiffany on HBO’s “Insecure.” She’s coming back to New York City to tape it at the Edison Ballroom on Sunday November 25th. The hour is set to be titled “I Be Knowin’.”

“Being a stand-up comic is an honor I don’t take lightly, because I consider humor to be a superpower that allows us to bear the weight of issues and concepts that otherwise seem so much bigger than us,” says Seales. “‘I BE KNOWIN’ is 37 years of finding the funny, culminating in an hour, and my HBO family being the place where I get to share it, makes this, my first special, even that much more special.”

A former MTV VJ with a master’s in African-American studies from Columbia University, she has guest-starred on “Black-ish,” written, produced and starred in two seasons of her scripted web comedy series, “Get Your Life,” and hosts her weekly podcast, “Small Doses.” But she’s a stand up comedian through and through, and just this year was named one of Variety magazines Top 10 Comics to Watch, and was honored at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. We also caught her killing at Austin’s Moontower Comedy Festival this year.

Jesse Collins Entertainment will produce the hour which will be directed by Stan Lathan, and it all comes to you sometimes in 2019, only on HBO.
