Alec Baldwin Stalked The Original SNL Cast
One of Alec Baldwin’s first acting gigs was a soap opera on NBC. But at that time, he was more interested in a late night comedy that the network aired live on Saturday nights. It was a show that Alec would go on to host a record 16 times. He loved the original SNL cast and wanted to hang with them. Alec Baldwin told New York Magazine that he used to wait at the Louis’s Toy Bar on the Upper East Side because he heard they went there for drinks after the show.
Alec said, “I was told, back then, that all the cast of the original Saturday Night Live went there after the show; this was their haunt, this was their after-party-after-party Copacabana. And I went there countless times, eating Velveeta cheese, waiting for them, and they never came. They never showed up. Louis’s Toy Bar. I think they had moved on by then. That’s the rule: Once I show up, you can know they’ve all moved on.”
Oh course now if anyone stalks Alec, he beats them up. Life = Funny.
