While promoting her new series “Shrill”, Aidy Bryant told Cosmopolitan magazine “Yeah, I’m fat, I’m not afraid of saying that. And there are a lot of euphemistic ways to soften it, like, ‘She’s chunky or curvy.’ But there’s something to be said for just owning it and not letting it destroy me.”
Bryant also said “I don’t want to be a curvy babe,” and about her character, “I wanted to create a fat character that you fall in love with and can’t help but root for.”
People magazine had an exclusive first look at the new fashion photo shoot that will appear in the April edition of Cosmo magazine (wait we’re doing that now? exclusively previewing a magazine article in a magazine?). Check out the photo preview here. Also featured in the Cosmo layout is costar Lolly Adefope.
“Shrill” is coming to Hulu in just a few days- you’ll be able to watch it starting March 15th. Bryant stars as Annie, a woman trying to make the most out of life despite her plus size. Adefope plays her roomate. The series is based on Lindy West’s bestseller “Shrill: Notes From a Loud Woman.”
