Aidy Bryant to Star in Hulu Adaptation of “Shrill”

New York Times bestselling book “Shrill” is being adapted into a Hulu comedy series. The book written by comedian, and humorist Lindy West was named book of the year by Esquire, the LA Times, Newsweek and NPR. Her memoir tells the story of a large loud and proud woman who is navigating her way through a world that isn’t always kind to people with those characteristics.

Aidy Bryant will star as West in the Hulu adaptation, as a fat young woman who wants to change her life, but not her body. Bryant worked with West and Ali Rushfield to write the story. Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video will produce.

In addition to spending the last six years as an SNL castmember, Bryant has appeared on IFC’s Comedy Bang Bang, Broad City, Documentary Now, and had a recurring role on Horace and Pete.
