Adam Sandler Is Nervous About SNL 40

sandlerAdam Sandler never returned to Saturday Night Live after leaving the cast in 1995. That is until tonight. Sandler will be back as part of the SNL 40th anniversary special. And that has him a little shaky.

He told Access Hollywood, “I’m kinda nervous about that. That’s weird. It’s gonna be great seeing everybody, but that’s gonna be a big night.” He added, “I think when we see each other there, nobody’s gonna say…anything else but, ‘This is an amazing thing to be together again.’ It’s gonna be fun to be trying to make each other laugh in the room and then the party’s gonna [be fun]. I don’t hit too many parties anymore, but [Sunday night] I plan on hitting it pretty hard with the gang. There are gonna be people I see that I haven’t seen in 15 years or so.”

Adam Sandler’s nerves may be a reason why he’s never been back to host Saturday Night Live. When asked about it, he once told Norm Macdonald, “Why should I? I don’t know how good it would be. I’m slow now.”

There is one former cast member in particular that Sandler is looking forward to seeing tonight, original Not-Ready-For-Primetime-Player Laraine Newman. Sandler said, “We all love Laraine and she’s the reason we got to do the show. The original cast, of course, will always be the best and the most exciting to see.”

SNL 40 begins tonight at 7pm et with red carpet coverage and the special at 8pm et on NBC.
