This week, he’s blowing the lid off the whole eyeglass industry, explaining why you can’t catch a break on a pair. He explains that one company, Luxottica runs the whole damn industry, including the high fashion brands and the theoretically cheapies. Conover says they also own the stores that sell glasses, the frames, the lenses, and the insurance company. Sound devious? You don’t know the half of it, but Adam does.
So if one company owns 80% of the market, they can rape the rest of us? Good business model.
