Black Friday has spread like the Black Plague into Black Thursday where stores are now opening on Thanksgiving. This forces employees of those stores to miss out on the family holiday so that everyone else can save $20 on a piece of plastic. We can’t speak for the rest of their policies, but here are eleven companies who refuse to open on Thanksgiving.

TJX, the company that owns both T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, is keeping its stores closed on Thanksgiving and they plan on keeping it that way. The department store execs at Nordstrom didn’t have to struggle with the decision. It’s always been their tradition to be closed on Thanksgiving.
