Hampshire College is embroiled in controversy after Afrobeat band ‘Shokazoba’ was removed from the Hampshire Halloween concert after being deemed ‘too white’ across social media. Afrobeat is a type of funk music made popular in Africa during the 1970’s and Shokazoba contains 10 members with only one of them being black. Why does the man always have to hold the white man down?
