Wondo Wows Again

Chris Wondolowski hadn’t scored a goal for the US National Team in 11 matches. He’s looking at 5 in the past 2 matches. After starting the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a hat trick against Belize, Wondolowski scored two goals in a 4-1 comeback over Cuba on Saturday. The win propels the Americans, with one group stage match still to play, into a quarterfinal game next Sunday afternoon. Worth noting is Wondolowski scored his three goals against Belize with his name misspelled “Wondowlowski” on his shirt. But after he failed to score again after switching to a corrected kit at halftime, Wondo had an extra “W” printed on the inside of his shirt for Saturday’s two goal effort.
