Thousands Of Panicked Oklahomans Tried Fleeing The Tornadoes Friday

With May 20th fresh on their minds, many Oklahoma City residents thought they’d be safer outrunning the tornadoes during Friday evening’s outbreak. Most went south, as the May 20th storm system was moving in a northeasterly direction. That resulted in two problems, the first being thousands of people trying to move in one direction resulted in gridlock. The other problem was Friday’s system was moving in a southeasterly direction, heading right in the middle of the traffic jam.
