The process of making Greek Yogurt produces a highly toxic by-product called ‘acid whey’ and it can’t be dumped. Acid Whey would kill everything in the water supply, creating a dead sea.
Some farmers are starting to take it off suppliers hands to be used as fertilizer, but the industry has blown up so fast they’re starting to worry. The now $2 billion dollar industry is so profitable it’s destroying other parts of the environment.
