$150M-$250M in MNF Bets Shifted After Packer Loss

The “simultaneous catch” called by replacement referees at the end of the Seahawks-Packers game hurt gamblers more than fans and players.  It is reported that $150 to $250 million dollars worldwide shifted on that controversial call.  USA Today oddsmaker, Danny Sheridan, estimates that $1 billion changed hands as a result of that call.  The call also changed the Packers’ odds of winning the Super Bowl from 7-1 to 9-1.

If the call would have gone the other way, the Packers would have won by 5 points and covered their 3 1/2 point spread.
