Cheech Opens Museum of Chicano Art

The largest collection of Chicano art is now officially open in Los Angeles. The museum, which is named for Cheech Marin, was made possible largely due to Cheech donating his extensive collection. He opened the museum in full Cheech style leading a parade of low riders to the museum’s door. “My heart is swelling at this point, man, this is a dear dream to have a museum dedicated to Chicano art,” he said.

Why did it take so long to have this museum in Los Angeles?
