Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: May 7, 2022
Dedicated to the brilliant and beautiful Ernie Tripper
It’s May 14, and Saturday Night Live is LIVE tonight! It’s the penultimate episode of Season 47 and helming the episode is none other than pop superstar and actor with a huge hit series, Selena Gomez. She’s also an accomplished producer, making her a triple threat in entertainment. Post Malone will serve as musical guest. It’s her very first time on Saturday Night Live
Selena started as a kid actor, appearing on the series Barney for two years in the early 2000’s and going to to become a Disney teen actor starring on the Wizards of Waverly Place. A slew of kids movies followed and then those of us not young enough to know her from those projects became aware of Selena in Spring Breakers and Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York. She Executive Produced the hugely popular and controversial series 13 Reasons Why for Netflix, and has won critical love and awards for both her performance and role as EP on the Hulu smash hit, Only Murders in the Building. Her music career is gigantic, she’s released seven albums with plenty of top ten singles like “Come & Get It”, “The Heart Wants What It Wants”, “Good for You”, “Same Old Love”, “Hands to Myself”, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, “It Ain’t Me”,”Lose You to Love Me” which went to number one. And of course, she has a massive social media presence, and has an active presence with charitable organizations, leading to Billboard naming her Woman of the Year in 2017 and Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020.
In week’s promo, Gomez insists she’s not nervous and does not have ants in her pants despite
Here come the predictions! It’s rare for the Cold Open to leave the political realm, but is it time for a Depp vs Heard trial cold open and is there a way to tie it into a few of SNL’s political figure impressions? Could we have Trump and Biden debating who is winning? For Weekend Update expect to hear about Ozzy Osbourne finding out he’s going to be a grandfather, Biden talking about segregation, Britney’s nudes, Patti Lupone fighting with a maskless audience member, James Cromwell’s super glue protest, Madonna’s vagina tree, Eric Adams saying Gracie Mansion is haunted, and maybe a weekend update character editorial featuring an impression of Sarah Silverman talking about good hygiene? And yes we expect, no, demand a surprise appearance from her OMiTB co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short. Is that too much to ask?
You can find out for yourselves tonight at 11:30pm ET on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
