Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: November 6, 2021

Dedicated to the brilliant and beautiful Ernie Tripper

Saturday Night Live is back tonight with its fifth episode of season 47. Kieren Culkin will make his Saturday Night Live debut tonight as the show’s host and Ed Sheeran will be the episode’s musical guest.

Culkin currently stars as Roman Roy, the most flippant of the Roy children on the hit television drama Succession.  Although he’s never hosted SNL, this won’t be his first appearance on the show. He actually appeared in a sketch 30 years ago, back in 1991 when his brother Macauley hosted.  Kieren was 9 years old, and appeared in three sketches that night, most notably playing “Froggy” in a memorable sketch with the Richmeister.  That episode is also notorious for being the only SNL ever filmed without cue cards.

SNL appearances aside, Culkin has been in front of the camera most of his life.  He got his start co-starring with his brother Macauley in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, and also had roles in the Father of the Bride series, The Cider House Rules and in 2002 an award winning role in Igby Goes Down.

What should you expect on this week’s live episode of Saturday Night Live? There’s a lot of politics and pop culture to dissect this week .

In the new promo Chris Redd and Heidi Gardner play the name game with Culkin and then have an odd discussion about whether or not there will be Ghosts on this week’s episode.  We had some elections take place around the country including a New York City mayoral race full of bizarre circumstances. Aaron Rodgers has Covid and a vaccination scandal, and it would be shocking if Kim Kardashian’s name isn’t brought up in some capacity.

The big question of course on everyone’s mind- will Pete Davidson start dating Kieran Culkin after Saturday’s episode wraps?

You won’t want to miss tonight’s all new episode of Saturday Night Live Season 47 with Kieren Culkin at the helm and musical guest Halsey at 11:30pm et on NBC!
