NFL Players are Three Times as Likely to Get Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s
That’s what the CDC just confirmed after studying retired players who played for at least five seasons between 1959 and 1988. 334 players have died of that group, and brain disease was part of 17 of those deaths.The researchers aren’t saying concussions might not be totally to blame, they have to perform more tests. This is coming on top of the NFL making their biggest charitable donation ever, which is $30 million dollars to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health for brain injury research. With the majority of teams worth over a billion EACH, this is the most money the NFL has given in its 92 year history.
