Ben Stiller Was ‘Shattered’ To Learn Poseidon Adventure Was A ‘Money Job’ For Gene Hackman

Ben Stiller was such a big fan of ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ that he saw 10 times when he was a kid. When Stiller got to work with Gene Hackman on The Royal Tennabaums, he walked up to the Oscar winning actor to express his appreciation for the film and Hackman’s work in the disaster classic. But according to Stiller, Hackman responded, ‘Oh yeah. Money job’ before walking away. Stiller says that his ‘world was shattered’, but still calls Hackman’s performance ‘the most incredible money-job performance I’ve ever seen’. Reps for Stiller won’t confirm a report that Paul Michael Glaser gave him the stink eye during the making of Starsky & Hutch.
