Ray Romano’s Special is a Collection of Drop Ins at the Cellar

Ray Romano filmed his new Netflix special- his first special in over 20 years, and his first hour special ever! The hour was taped at New York’s famed Comedy Cellar. In 1996 Romano filmed and released his first and last special, and debuted the career changing sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. He’s been a super star ever since.

Right Here, Around the Corner, the special was taped during two drop-in sets at the Comedy Cellar and the Village Underground in New York, with Romano talking about traffic light flowers, noticing haircuts, raising kids, having sex now that he’s older, and that’s just in the trailer.

Insiders told us that the special was actually taped with drop -in sets performed during regular showcase shows at the Cellar and Village Underground last summer.  Drop in sets, of course, are unannounced suprise sets usually by major celebrities that are always a big thrill for audiences. Nobody in the audience new Ray was performing, let alone taping a special.

You can also catch Romano this season on HBO’s Crashing, also taped outside of the Comedy Cellar last summer.

Right Here, Around the Corner streams Feb. 5 only on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
