Guardians of the Galaxy Cast Wants James Gunn Back

Guardians of the Galaxy cast members Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista signed an open letter asking for Disney to rehire James Gunn. Gunn was abruptly fired by Disney on July 20 for some old offensive tweets he made a few years back. Since then many celebrities have rushed to his defense including Bobcat Goldthwait who told Disney they may as well scrub his participation in various Disney projects because he has a history that includes some things that he regrets.

Gunn’s twitter apology didn’t seem to move Disney but perhaps the cast letter will have some effect.

People are hopeful Gunn will be re-hired since CNBC reversed a similar decision and that there hasn’t been a new director announced yet. But nothing will be decided until Bob Iger returns from vacation.

So, while James Gunn awaits his fate, he knows its in the hands of Bob Iger while he drinks Pina Coladas at a swim-up pool bar.
