Did Donald Glover Rip Off This Is America?

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino performed his new song “This Is America” on Saturday Night Live on May 5th, and the song was an instant hit, debuting at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100. The song even took down Drake after a 15 week run in the top spot. The song received 65.3 million U.S. streams for its opening week, and 78,000 downloads sold with a 9.4 million radio airplay audience. Gambino also entered the Rap Airplay chart at number 20. In the history of Billboard’s Hot 100 history, only 31 songs have had a debut in the top slot.
But now a Twitter user is accusing Glover’s big hit of sounding a little too similar to a rapper named Jase Harley’s “American Pharaoh”. Harley’s track was released in 2016 on an album titled ‘Free Pxrn: The Memoir of an American Heathen.’ album.
This will largely be overlooked but it sounds like same damn song and this was released a few years prior.

Harley’s fans have been encouraging him to sue on social media. Harley isn’t planning to take any legal action but says he wishes he got a shout out or something.
Donald Glover should just blame the theft on Childish Gambino and stay out of it.
