NBC Rescued Axed Fox Comedy

The biggest television news this week was not another round of revivals, it was the Fox network’s decision to axe several popular comedy shows. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth and The Mick were all given their walking papers this week causing surprise and shockwaves throughout the industry. But one of those shows has been saved.

NBC announced late today that they would pick up the canceled series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Less than 24 hours after Andy Samberg and his co-stars found out they were out of work, they’re back in business with an order for 13 episodes.

“Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!”

The cast and crew is celebrating.
