A design proposed by Aviointeriors would be able to fit in 20% more passengers per plane by cutting space between seats by around 5 inches and have passengers in a standing up position on a saddle-like seat bottom. So if you get stuck between two fat people maybe they’ll shed a few pounds standing by the end of the flight.
