Handless New York Comedian Takes On ‘Hand Jobs’ in New Web Series

New York comedian Chris Crespo has no hands, but that isn’t stopping him from doing anything everything that people who have hands can do.
Christopher Crespo is a disabled stand up comedian from North Bergen, NJ. He’s been performing and practicing
comedy in the tri-state area for four years, and talks about the awkward situations and moments involving his disability on stage. When he performs, he doesn’t sugar coat the situation to make the audience feel better. He’s also a mascot in an underground roast show called Comedy Fight Club and appeared last year on our own Comedy 101 show at The Stand.
He’s also producing and hosting a brand new web series that puts him in a series of challenging situations. In each episode, Chris trains for a new job that normally requires the use of hands. The show is called Hand Jobs (think dirty jobs if the Mike Rowe had no hands). Crespo will train for a different profession each month and put his skills to the test to see what jobs he can conquer. In episode one, Crespo goes to Stamford Connecticut to learn how to be a boxer. Watch him get into the ring and hit the heavy bag, or at least try. Chris is planning to record a new episode every month, including shows where he trains to be a stripper, a pro bowler, a bodybuilder and a firefighter.
Crespo plans to be both harsh and honest, and at least the harsh part is evident in the show’s intro calling him a “human cactus” and “cripple threat.”
Series director Mike Lavin says he was on board as soon as Chris told him his idea for the show. “He’s hilarious and his perspective is unique. The series will not only be funny but will shed light on the reality of living with disabilities, which is really important to me. It’s going to be amazing!”
