The Dance Dance Revolution

We are witnessing a seismic shift in our music /club /festival /dance culture. Instead of people flocking to see the great live rock act of the era, we see larger and larger crowds going to see a DJ spin a live set. Forget pop and hip hop, what’s white hot now is the dance music DJ, the dubstep guys are packing the place out. Canadian DJ deadmau5 just graced the cover of Rolling Stone. They’ve arrived.

Festivals like the Electric Daisy Carnival are getting as much heat as Coachella and Bonnaroo, and the Daisy goers are as high as anyone at the rock festivals. Is it the drugs? Is it the dancing? Or are the times just changing and this is the future? One man behind a couple of laptops and some turntables controlling tens of thousands of people, all by himself. Check it out for yourself below as we’ve highlighted this new sound in music.
