If you were wondering how Salt Bae gets away with his cool but kind of gross cooking style, you’ll be happy to know that New York’s Health Department isn’t keen on the whole, letting seasonings slide down your bare arm thing. Article 81 of New York City’s health code says that bare hand contact with food that is ‘ready to eat’ is prohibited,” and Salt Bae is all about the direct contact. Article 81 also prohibits chefs from wearing jewelry when cooking and salt bae wears a gold watch and big chain in his videos while cooking. Now he’s being investigated by the board of health. This would kill anyone else’s reputation, but it just keeps his cred as the bad boy of the restaurant industry,
